Scarf knit-a-thon for Beaconsfield

The Beaconsfield community is inviting knitters around the world to help craft a 925m-long scarf in memory of the mine tragedy and rescue.

The massive woollen scarf will require almost five million stitches and will weigh 122kg.

When complete it will reach 925m, the depth survivors Todd Russell and Brant Webb were trapped underground. [more]
